On this page, you will find the answers to some frequently asked questions from schools who import their pupil and class information manually. More detailed help is available in the Pupil Import tool or Importing a CTF help page.

Can Our School MIS (e.g. SIMS, Integris, ISAMS) Provide Automatic Updates To Classroom Monitor So I Don't Have To Do It Manually?

Yes, please take a look at our page on The MIS Synchronisation for information about setting this up. Even if your MIS wouldn't previously sync with Classroom Monitor, we have changed provider so this may now be possible.

Should I Update Pupil Year Groups?

If you have already set up your pupil records in Classroom Monitor, your pupils are automatically rolled up to the next year group during the Summer holidays. Please DON'T roll your pupils up yourself without letting us know, as this will result in your pupils appearing one academic year higher than they should be in September.

How Do I Add New Pupils?

Whenever you have new pupils join your school, you will need to add them to your Classroom Monitor account.

Adding a class of new pupils:
If you have quite a few pupils to add into Classroom Monitor, we would advise you to use the 'Pupil Importer Tool'. AFTER the roll over date where your pupils will have been automatically rolled up to the next academic year, you will be able to add your new 'Nursery / Reception' class/es. Follow the 'step-by-step' help on the '
Pupil Import' page to achieve this.

Adding individual pupils:
If you are wanting to add just a few individual pupils, follow the advice on the '
Pupil Management' page. When a pupil has been added manually, the pupil will then need to be added into the necessary group. Visit the Group Management help page for instructions on how to do this.

What Do I Do If a Pupil Leaves Our School?

During the Summer, when the roll up occurs, your Year 2 pupils (Infants schools) or Year 6 pupils (Primary schools) will be rolled up to Year 3 / Year 7 respectively. They will then be set to inactive, so you don't need to do anything for your Summer leavers.

However, if a pupil leaves during the year or moves school in the summer and is not in the final year group at your school, they will need to be set to inactive in the admin area. You can do this by following the instructions on the 'Pupil Management' page.
