The first step in generating a table or graph is to click on the large, flashing orange button that you can see circled in this picture. This enables you to choose the Pupils, Subjects and Timeframe that you require in your table or graph.

You can see that there are 3 areas where you will need to make selections: Select Pupils, Select Subject, Select Timeframe.

1. Select Pupils

Working from left to right in this area:
Academic year: This defaults to the current academic year allowing selections to then be made for the current pupils and groups. You can select previous academic years should you wish to look at data for groups from previous years. This allows you to access data for cohort's that have left the school should you need to.
Cohort: This allows you to select the type of cohort you would like to load. You can choose from: Whole School, Key Stage, Year Group, Class/Group.
Select Cohort: This allows you to select a group to load. If you selected Class/Group then you will see all of the groups that you have access to in this box. You can select one or more of these from the dropdown.

When you have selected your group, all of the pupils will be loaded into this area as you can see above. By default, they will all have ticks next to them to show that they will appear in your analysis. To remove any children from the analysis, you can untick next to their name.

The orange pupil filters bar in this area allows you to carry out
Advanced Pupil Selection (e.g. FSM, term of birth etc) should you need to do so.

2. Select Subject

You will first need to select the curriculum or curriculums that you want to generate an analysis for. When you select your curriculum, the subjects will automatically appear below. You can then select the subject or subjects that you require by ticking in the relevant boxes.

3. Select Timeframe

The Timeframe filter contains 4 options for speedy selection.

  • Now: selects the current month.
  • This term: selects all the months from the current term.
  • Terms from this year: selects the most recent month from each term from the current academic year N.B. In Classroom Monitor terms are: Sept to Dec (Autumn), Jan to April (Spring), May to August (Summer)
  • This Year: selects all the months / terms from the current academic year.
  • Choose from below: to create a custom selection. Any date(s) can be selected and all the ones in bold contain data.

Any dates shown in bold indicate that either teacher or summative assessment was recorded during that month for at least one of the selected pupils in at least one of the selected subjects.

4. Generate Analysis

When you are happy with the pupils, subjects and timeframe you have selected, you should click the button entitled 'Generate Table' or 'Generate Graph'.

When you toggle between the different views (i.e. Pupil Table, Pupil Graph, Group Table or Group Graph) your selections will be retained.
