To display a pupil attainment graph, you will need to have pupil and graph selected in the toggles on the left hand side of the screen. Then you should choose the data that you want to display using the Choose Pupils/Subjects/Timeframe button and pressing 'Generate Graph'. The attainment graphs described on this page use only one date. If you want to look at more than one date you should generate an Attainment over time graph.

The Attainment graph will be selected by default in the green control bar as you can see in the image below

Pupil attainment graph with one subject and one date

When only one date has been selected, the data will be displayed in the form of a bar graph. Each pupil has a bar showing their attainment in the selected subject on the selected date.

This can be used for a snapshot of the range of pupil attainment in a group in a particular subject in order to compare individuals.

Pupil Attainment Graph With Two Subjects And One Date

When only one date has been selected, the data will be displayed in the form of a bar graph again. Each pupil has a bar showing their attainment in each selected subject on the selected date.

This can be used for a snapshot of the range of pupil attainment in a group in order to compare individuals and note any differences between subjects. This can also be a useful graph for one pupil in more than one subject to compare their attainment in different subjects.

Overlaying Other Data

You can use the control bar to overlay data. In particular, selecting 'Attainment Average' will lay a line across the graph showing the average attainment for the pupils selected for each selected subject. It is also possible to select 'Attendance' which will insert an attendance bar for each pupil so that you can assess the impact of attendance on attainment for the group.
