Evidence can be attached to the markbooks in the form of notes, photos, videos, sound  recordings or other files to support assessment judgments.  Uploaded evidence can also be shared with parents via online reporting, exported in a Learning Journey or used to inform  teacher planning.

Attaching Evidence: The Basics

Follow these  instructions for adding a piece of evidence to one objective for one pupil.

1. Load the relevant markbook

2. Right click on the hexagon for the relevant pupil and objective (this can be an assessed or unassessed hexagon)

3. Select 'Evidence and Resources -> Add'.

4. Select the type of evidence that you want to attach from the dropdown. The options are: Note, Photo, Document, Lesson Plan, Internet Link, Video and Sound Recording. NB Only evidence with type 'Photo' can be exported to a Learning Journey.

5. Add any note that you want to record to the 'Notes' comment box. NB a note can be added alongside any other evidence type or on its own.

6. Set Recorded Date: Defaults to today's date. Click the calendar icon to change if you wish.

7. Click 'Browse' to locate your file.

8. Press 'Save' to upload and attach the file (max 40MB)

9. Press 'Return to Markbook'.

A  magnifying glass icon will appear in  the markbook on the relevant hexagon to show evidence has been  attached.

Adding Evidence For Multiple Pupils and/or Objectives

Evidence can also be added to multiple pupils and / or multiple assessment criteria at the same time. You can do this using any of the selection tools described on the speeding up assessment help page. For example, to add a piece of evidence to an assessment for more than one child, you could hold down the ctrl key and select the pupils you would like to add the evidence to. Once you have made your selection release the ctrl key and the menu box will appear.  You would continue to add the evidence as described above but this time, the same evidence would be added to all of the selected children and / or objectives.

TOP TIP: All file uploads  are limited to 40 mb. This will be enough for all photos but may restrict  videos to around 20 seconds.
